Receptionist - Hell Bay Hotel

Reporting to: Hell Bay General Manager

Salary: From £12.25 per hour, dependent on experience

Hours: 40-45 hours per week, with 2 days off

Contract Length: Seasonal, March – October (dates can be flexible)

• Checking guests in and out
• Assisting guests with general queries as well as regarding quays for boat trips and other local knowledge
• Making and assisting with hotel reservations and quotes
• Responding to emails
• Undertaking administration and secretarial duties as required
• Handling mail
• Responsible for the daily hotel banking
• Using the shop till and restocking the shop
• Typing of daily menus
• Inform guests of travel arrangements including pick-up times
• Ensure the office is kept clean and tidy
• Undergo any additional training required provided by the business to assist you in the role
• Listen to baby monitors in the evenings whilst guests are at dinner
• Other duties required to ensure the smooth running of the Hotel

  • Able to work well as part of a team as well as alone
  • Should have excellent customer service skills that can be evidenced
  • Must have English fluency and the ability to converse easily with a wide range of people, both in writing and verbally
  • Will be self-motivated with a proven ability to work in an organised and efficient manner
  • Should have the ability to remain calm and professional in busy and high-pressure situations
  • Must have ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software such as Outlook, Excel, Word and Access
  • Previous work experience in a reception or reservations environment is desired
