Ukraine Fundraising Auction
Our recent fundraising event has already raised over £4,000 for the families of our Ukrainian refugees, and with our fundraising auction, we hope to raise even more...
On our little island, tucked away off the tip of Cornwall, it’s easy to feel a million miles away from events taking place not that far away at all…
However, for three of our island community - Vita, Yaroslava and Tetiana - the events taking place a few thousand miles away in Ukraine could not be more real. Behind the headlines for their families back home is the daily experience of life in a wartorn country.
Cottage Services Manager Anna Wypyszynska, who travelled to her native Poland in March to help the refugee effort, recently held a fundraising evening at The Flying Boat - attended by dozens of islanders and visitors, showing their solidarity for Ukraine. The event raised over £4,200 - and now we hope to raise even more.
The auction has now closed - thank you to all who placed bids. The total raised was £2,530, in addition to our other fundraising efforts.
