Tresco acquires Firethorn and two jet boats.
Exciting island news as it has been announced that Tresco Island has bought Bryher Boat Services' three main boats.
Tresco will be running its own boat service from May this year as the owners of Bryher Boat Services, David and Kathy Stedeford, look to retire. Robert Dorrien Smith, owner of Tresco Island, commented on the move: " Following discussions with the Stedeford family, I'm pleased to say that it has been agreed that Tresco Estate is to acquire Firethorn and the two jet boats. From 1st May it is my intention to run a boating company to serve the islanders and visitors of Tresco and Bryher. I would like to pay tribute to the Jenkins and Stedeford families who have provided both islands with an outstanding service in all weathers with great reliability and courtesy over the past fifty years. I wish Kathy and David all the best in their retirement and very much hope that we can make the new service live up to the very high standard that they have set in the past."
