Scilly Named Best UK Family Destination
The Isles of Scilly has been named 'Best Domestic Destination for Families' at the prestigious Family Traveller Awards in London.
The islands were up against some stiff competition from the likes of Cornwall, Devon, Guernsey, the Isle of Wight and the Cairngorms but triumphed after a public vote and judging by a panel of experts. The industry aficionados included TV presenter and writer Mariella Frostrup, adventurer and broadcaster Simon Reeve, and Family Traveller magazine Editor Jane Anderson.
The award was presented to Visit Isles of Scily Executive Director David Jackson at an award ceremony at The Shard in London on Tuesday 6th October.
Wayne Shaw, Tresco's Hospitality Manager, said: “We are thrilled that the Isles of Scilly won the Best Domestic Destination award at this year’s Family Traveller Awards.

“The fact that both a public vote and a panel of experts decided the award demonstrates that Scilly is not only seen as a top destination by industry aficionados but also by our visitors.”
