Celebrations All Around
There were celebrations all around the island recently, after our restaurants and Hell Bay Hotel received further national recognition for their food and hospitality.
The Ruin Beach Café on Tresco recently received the coveted two AA Rosette award for its culinary excellence – the first time the restaurant has been recognised by the scheme.
The award means The Ruin now joins other Tresco Estate businesses The New Inn and Hell Bay Hotel’s restaurant as the only three restaurants on the Isles of Scilly to receive AA rosettes for their food excellence.
There were further celebrations as Hell Bay Hotel, on Bryher, which holds a three AA Rosette award, won the Small Boutique Hotel of the Year category at the Cornwall Tourism Awards for the fifth year running.
Both the Ruin Beach Café and Hell Bay Hotel were also included in the 2018 Michelin Guide revealed in early October, whilst The New Inn retains its position in the Michelin Eating Out in Pubs Guide.
Commenting on the recent announcements Philip Callan from Tresco said: “We are delighted to have been recognised for such prestigious awards and honoured to now hold the highly sought-after mark of culinary excellence for three of our restaurants.
"We’re of course blessed with fantastic produce and producers on the islands which we celebrate throughout our menus however these recent wins are testament to our hard working teams.”
