Taste of Scilly: Beehive Tour & Taster
Island beekeeper Jilly Halliday introduces you to the nectar-rich gardens home to our island bee colonies
Wednesday 16th April 2025
11am - 1pm; booking essential |
Tresco Abbey Garden is unique, home to plants from more than 80 countries- Brazil to New Zealand, Burma to South Africa. Nowhere else in the world brings together such a plethora of species in a single outdoor location. As such, the forage enjoyed by our island bees is inimitable, resulting in honey that literally distils a whole world of flavours.
Met by island Beekeeper Jilly Halliday on Wednesday 16th April, you'll explore the lives of the Scilly Bees. Starting in the nectar rich gardens, learn about the hives that thrive amidst the flora there. Jilly will then lead you beyond the garden walls to the incredible community-built Rocket Hives and inform you about the Scilly Bee Project and wider bee community. Finish with a taste of the fine golden honey and a Q&A at Tresco Abbey Garden.
Your tour will finish with a taste of Tresco honey and the opportunity to learn more in a Q&A session with Jilly.
