Low Tide Walk to Samson

A rare opportunity to take a low tide walk across the sands from Tresco to Samson, and to see the ancient sites in the inter-tidal zone, with island archaeologist Dr Katharine Sawyer.

After lunch there will be a guided walk around Samson to view the Bronze Age burial chambers, post-Mediaeval cottages and 19th century deer park.

Meet at the southern end (closest to St Mary's) of Appletree Bay at 11am; return jetboat from Samson to Tresco at 3:30pm. Places on boat are limited - please book at the Island Office.

Please bring a picnic and wear aqua shoes, wellies or old plimsolls etc. to walk across (no bare feet or flip-flops) and walking shoes or trainers for the walk around Samson.
