Daytrip Itinerary - Foodie
Tresco is a haven for foodies. We have three different eateries all offering distinct menus and differing vibes. Eat your way around the island with our suggestions below – you might even be tempted to spend a second day with us!
This itinerary is well-suited to anyone with a love of good food! The distances between our eateries are relatively short and each location has a breakfast, lunch and afternoon option so you can do it in any order you wish.
Morning
Start your gourmet island tour at the Flying Boat Café & Deli - sample exceptional Cornish Origin coffee, loose leaf tea made with fresh Abbey Garden botanicals, enjoy a light brunch or savour Bryher-baked cakes.
Soak up the relaxed atmopshere and take in the views of the Tresco channel.
Head next door to Tresco Stores and stock up on foodie treats - the Stores offers a broad selection of island and southwest produce, a well-stocked deli section, bakery and more.
Lunch
Stroll across the island to Tresco's east coast, where you'll find the Ruin Beach Café.
Grab a spot on its sun terrace and try a Trescotini featuring Tresco Abbey Garden gin while you peruse the menu.
For the main event, feast on wood fired pizza, sharing platters and crab linguine, all while enjoying views across Old Grimsby harbour and out to the Old Blockhouse.
Afternoon
Head back towards New Grimsby and stop off at the New Inn pub for a local tipple and Troytown ice cream.
The terraced pub garden is the perfect place to be in the afternoon. The ideal sun trap, sit with a drink and watch the world go by...
